Bringing together representatives from 14 partner universities across Europe and West Africa, the meeting provides a crucial opportunity to assess the progress of this 36-month Erasmus+-funded capacity-building project. NEEMA is led by the University of Seville and supports the European Green Deal and Farm to Fork Strategy, adapting them to the unique food security challenges of the Sahel and West Africa.

The two-day event features in-depth reviews of all five project work packages. Discussions include completed activities, key deliverables, financial progress, and future plans. Speakers from partner institutions shared updates and proposals for strengthening NEEMA’s impact.

FNR Toolkit, Training, and Regional Network for Food Resilience

A central focus of the project is the development of a Food and Nutritional Resilience (FNR) Toolkit by the University of Seville. Designed to support educators, decision-makers, aid workers, and students, the toolkit will include a user guide, FNR curriculum overview, strategies for food aid provision and resilience, and access to support services.

Another major milestone is the upcoming launch of a Pilot Online Training Course on Food Resilience and Nutritional Values, which will be implemented in all African partner universities. The course aims to build long-term capacities in food security across the region.
