Creation of the NEEMA International Advisory Board
Last September 2025, the International Advisory Board was established, a key element for ensuring the quality of governance of the NEEMA project and contributing to the successful implementation of the planned activities.
As outlined in the project, this advisory and consultative body was created to provide recommendations for improvement to the project’s coordination and management team. It is multidisciplinary in nature and is composed of 14 experts in Food and Nutritional Resilience, appointed by each partner university and from diverse disciplines such as Law, Agronomy, and Biology.
Although its establishment was planned for the start of the project’s implementation period, it was delayed due to the large number of activities planned and carried out during the first year of the project. As part of its work within NEEMA, the International Advisory Board has developed a series of recommendations to strengthen sound decision-making and ensure consistency in the execution of activities, as well as to achieve the planned objectives.
To date, the International Advisory Board meetings have been held virtually.
About NEEMA
NEEMA is a 36-month capacity building project of Ulysseus European University funded through the ERASMUS+ program. It aligns with the European Green Deal and Farm to Fork Strategy, adapting these frameworks to the unique challenges of the Sahel and West Africa.
Led by the University of Seville, NEEMA aims to enhance food and nutritional resilience, focusing on vulnerable populations. The project involves 14 universities across Africa and Europe, fostering collaboration, designing contextual curricula, and launching pilot initiatives to strengthen local capacities in food security and sustainability.
