Students from a Montenegrin Secondary School Visit Université Côte d’Azur
Final-year students from the “Mirko Vešović” Secondary School of Economics in Podgorica, Montenegro, recently visited Université Côte d’Azur in Nice. The visit gave them a chance to discover how European university cooperation can open new opportunities for young people considering their future studies.
The students were welcomed by Prof. Srđan Redžepagić, Director of BISI (the Balkan Center of Science and Innovation) in Nice and a long-standing ambassador of cooperation between Université Côte d’Azur, the University of Montenegro and the Ulysseus Alliance. He contributed to introducing the students to the opportunities offered through European university cooperation and the role of the Ulysseus Alliance in connecting educational institutions and communities across Europe.
The students were introduced to the different opportunities available through the Ulysseus Alliance, ranging from physical and virtual mobility and online language courses to joint master’s programmes, student innovation competitions, mentoring programmes and visits to partner universities. They also learned how these initiatives can support their academic and personal development, help them gain international experience and create opportunities to connect with students and academic communities across Europe.
For the students, the visit was an opportunity to look beyond their current classroom experience and get a glimpse of what studying in an international environment can look like. Learning about the different programmes and activities helped them understand how international cooperation can enrich their education, broaden their perspectives and open doors to new academic and personal experiences.
The visit was organised as part of the High School Mobilities programme within the Ulysseus Alliance, which aims to bring secondary school students closer to European higher education and introduce them to the opportunities available through cooperation between European universities.
By building connections between secondary schools and universities, the programme encourages young people to explore different educational paths, discover new academic environments and see themselves as part of a wider European learning community.
Through this and similar activities, the University of Montenegro will continue to introduce students to the opportunities offered by the Ulysseus Alliance and encourage their interest in international cooperation, mobility and pursuing further education within the European Higher Education Area.
