Artificial Intelligence Takes the Spotlight in Ulysseus BIP to Enhance Business Decision Making
More than 30 students from across Europe gathered at the University of Seville to take part in the programme.

More than 30 students from across Europe gathered at the University of Seville to take part in the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Artificial Intelligence for Business Decision Making”, held from 20 to 30 May 2025. The programme brought together undergraduate and master’s students from six Ulysseus partner institutions, reinforcing the alliance’s commitment to fostering innovative, international and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
Participants came from University of Seville (Spain), Université Côte d’Azur (France), University of Genoa (Italy), Technical University of Košice (Slovakia), University of Montenegro (Montenegro), and the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria (Italy), which joined as a guest institution. Throughout the ten-day programme, students explored how artificial intelligence (AI) can support strategic business decisions through hands-on activities and collaborative learning.
The in-person phase of the programme featured interactive lectures and a team-based project simulating real business scenarios, enabling students to apply AI tools and techniques in decision-making contexts. The programme also included a site visit to ITELLIGENT, a leading AI company based in Cádiz, where students learned about practical applications of AI in Industry 4.0, smart cities, tourism, energy, pricing strategies, geomarketing, and digital communication. Beyond the academic content, cultural and social activities played an essential role in creating a rich, immersive experience.

AI effects on the labour market
Throughout the programme, students engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the ethical and societal impacts of AI, particularly its effects on the labour market. Reflections highlighted both the challenges and opportunities brought by AI, underlining the importance of adaptability and forward-looking education.
The BIP concluded with a Business Forum where student teams presented their final projects. One group, composed of students from various Ulysseus partner universities, was recognised for its outstanding performance, showcasing the value of cross-border collaboration and the alliance’s mission to develop future-ready professionals.

AI for Young Tourism Entrepreneurs
Backed by strong institutional support and high levels of student satisfaction, the success of this BIP paves the way for future editions. A new programme, “AI for Young Tourism Entrepreneurs,” is already scheduled for November 2025 at the University of Seville’s Faculty of Tourism and Finance, with Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland) joining as a guest institution. Once again, students from across the Ulysseus European University will be invited to participate, continuing to build an ecosystem of excellence in innovation, entrepreneurship and international cooperation.
Fostering Innovation through Immersive Technologies
Earlier in May, another Ulysseus BIP focused on innovation in tourism through immersive technologies. Held at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, the programme brought together students from several partner universities to explore the use of AR, VR and XR in enhancing tourism experiences.
Participants developed practical projects, including digital twins and virtual guides, while strengthening cross-border collaboration. This initiative also led to new academic partnerships and the preparation of a future joint project supported by Ulysseus Seed Funding, further reinforcing the alliance’s commitment to technological innovation with social impact.
