BIP: Libraries for a Sustainable Future

Join the immersive professional week in Helsinki to explore the future of libraries and information services together with colleagues from three different European Universities – Ulysseus, U!REKA and PIONEER! In this exciting programme, we explore the current topics and future challenges by diving into the themes of artificial intelligence, open science, and sustainability. Participants will visit four different campuses and several iconic libraries in Helsinki.

Blended Intensive Programme

The course is designed as a blended intensive programme with a virtual phase and an in-person phase:

Virtual Component/Part 

  • Online workshop organised by Haaga-Helia on the 5th May 2026, at 9.00-11.00 CET.
  •  Agenda:
    • Introduction of the Ulysseus Libraries and Information Services
    • Discussion and reflection of the expectations for the programme

Physical Mobility

  • The physical mobility part will be implemented from 1-5 June 2026 in Helsinki, Finland.The programme will start and end at Haaga-Helia on Pasila campus. Participants will also visit three other campuses: Haaga-Helia Porvoo, Metropolia Myllypuro and Laurea Tikkurila. We will also visit several iconic libraries in Helsinki.
