About this Open Series Lecture

In this lecture, Belén will highlight the critical necessity of integrating ethical frameworks into the rapid evolution of modern technology and Artificial Intelligence.

It explores how AI has become the primary driver of innovation, now outperforming humans in complex tasks like language and image recognition, while simultaneously warning of the risks associated with its immense power, such as misinformation, privacy breaches, and the lack of oversight in autonomous systems. A significant portion of the talk focuses on the challenge of bias, noting that technology often inherits the prejudices of its human creators, which can lead to social inequities.
