Ulysseus Research & Innovation Agenda and Action Plan
Our R&I Agenda and Action Plan
Ulysseus European University aims to create a dynamic innovation ecosystem addressing key challenges through a transdisciplinary approach. Central to this vision are its Innovation Hubs (IH), each focusing on a broad thematic area and leveraging the strengths of the alliance’s partners. Ulysseus R&I activities include joint European degrees, Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe projects, spin-off incubators, research centers, and Living Labs.
To support these efforts, Ulysseus launched the COMPASS project, funded by Horizon 2020. The project focuses on developing a unified research and innovation agenda to enhance the alliance’s impact, policy influence, and visibility at the European level. This report outlines a strategic R&I agenda, highlighting the capacities and synergies of the partners, identifying challenges, and recommending actions to overcome these barriers.
Data for this strategy was gathered through partner questionnaires, interviews, SWOT analyses, and ideation sessions. Supplementary desk research drew from sources like Horizon 2020, Web of Science, and Scopus.
The report covers a brief analysis of each partner, followed by a SWOT analysis, and concludes with seven strategic objectives and recommendations. It also identifies potential funding sources and monitoring indicators. This strategy is a living document, evolving to help Ulysseus achieve its goals.
