Kick-Off Meeting Marks the Launch of the PATH Project, the Ethical AI-Powered Career Guidance Initiative of Ulysseus
PATH will run for 30 months and it has the objective of strengthening career guidance services across the six partner universities through the development of an ethical AI-powered tool.

Ulysseus European University proudly celebrates the launch of the PATH project, a groundbreaking initiative designed to enhance career guidance services through ethical artificial intelligence (AI). The official kick-off meeting took place on 12 February 2025, bringing together representatives from six leading Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Europe.
Funded by the Erasmus+ programme (KA220-HED – Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education), PATH will run for 30 months until 30 April 2027, with a total budget of €400,000. The project is led by the University of Seville and includes the participation of Université Côte d’Azur (France), University of Genoa (Italy), Technical University of Kosice (Slovakia), MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® (Austria), and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland).
As a satellite project of the Ulysseus European University, PATH aligns with the alliance’s mission to foster innovation and excellence in higher education. It capitalizes on the diverse strengths of the consortium members, including their educational methodologies, regional engagement, and extensive stakeholder networks.
Project Objectives
The primary goal of PATH is to strengthen career guidance services across the six partner universities through the development of an ethical AI-powered tool. The project aims to:
- Develop a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 2 prototype of the PATH AI tool.
- Establish sustainable networking and collaboration with key European stakeholders, such as Cedefop and the PES Knowledge Centre.
- Enhance research capabilities in AI expert systems for career guidance.
Implementation and Expected Outcomes
The project will follow a structured approach, beginning with a comprehensive analysis of AI solutions in career guidance alongside the regulatory framework outlined in the European AI Act. It will then focus on defining the ethical, functional, and non-functional requirements necessary for the AI tool. To ensure compliance and usability, the Catalogue of Requirements will undergo a thorough validation process. Following this, the project will develop the PATH TRL 2 software prototype, laying the foundation for further advancements. Finally, an action plan will be formulated to guide the tool’s progression to Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 6 and 7.
By integrating AI into career guidance services, PATH is expected to foster a shift in mindset regarding AI applications in education. The initiative will directly impact the strategy and action plan of the Career Development Programme of Ulysseus, paving the way for the creation of a sustainable and ethically driven career guidance tool.
