Ulysseus develops its internationalization strategy beyond EU borders

Ulysseus European University (integrated by the University of Seville (Spain), the University of Genoa (Italy), Université of Côte D’Azur (France), Technical University of Košice (Slovakia), MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® (Austria) and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland)) strengthens its international strategy by signing two Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Da Nang (Vietnam) and the University of Laval (Quebec, Canada).

These documents were signed by the rectors and representatives from the current member universities of Ulysseus and also the new full members for the next Erasmus + call, University of Münster and University of Montenegro

With these agreements, the University of Da Nang and the University of Laval aim at establishing cooperative relations in the fields of education, research, and other interested activities between all parties. In order to implement these MoUs, two hubs will be located in Da Nang and Laval, which will become an international model for cooperation in both research and education.

All universities acknowledge the value of educational, cultural, and scientific exchanges between their respective institutions and have established that there is sufficient interest among all parties to formalise these memorandums of understanding.

Collaboration and exchanges

The agreements establish joint initiatives and projects in research, academic exchanges, conferences, workshops and training programmes, aimed at achieving common goals. By outlining areas of collaboration, the MoUs foster coordination and joint efforts to address shared challenges and pursue mutual interests.

Both MoUs also outline the mechanisms and protocols for sharing data, research findings, best practices, or other relevant information. This objective promotes transparency, enhances communication, and supports mutual learning.

Joint Research Centres

In connection with the Memorandums of Understanding signed by the Ulysseus partner institutions, the Alliance will provide open access to each Ulysseus partner’s future Joint Research Centres and respective incubators to faculty, students, researchers, and start-ups of the University of Da Nang and the University of Laval.

Basically, these MoUs serve as a preliminary step towards the negotiation and development of more detailed agreements or contracts but the terms are not intended to be legally binding. They represent a statement of mutual interest to explore opportunities for future collaborations and good intentions done in good faith and in a spirit of cooperation among the parties.
