The Applied AI for Business and Education Innovation hub will host an engaging hybrid session exploring the most important AI developments of the past year.

 

Haaga-Helia’s AI senior reseacher, Dr Umair Ali Khan will present groundbreaking tools, emerging trends, and provide some predictions on what directions AI could take over the coming year. This event is designed for teachers, students and those with a general interest in AI who want to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving AI landscape. Don’t miss the chance to learn, discuss, and connect with peers about where AI is heading next!

 

The hybrid event will be hosted in the Applied AI for Business and Education Innovation Hub in Haaga-Helia’s Pasila campus. Onsite registration is limited so please register as soon as possible.

Speakers

Dr. Umair Ali Khan

Dr Umair Ali Khan is a Senior Researcher in the Digitalization & Artificial Intelligence group at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Finland, where he specializes in applied AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI. His work spans knowledge extraction with large language models, AI agents, and knowledge graph integration with LLMs. Dr Khan also serves as an AI Advisor for the Finnish AI Region (FAIR) project, assisting companies in developing AI roadmaps and leading PoC development to demonstrate technical feasibility.

He holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Alpen Adria University, Klagenfurt, Austria, and also teaches as a professor at Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Sciences and Technology in Pakistan. Dr Khan is recognized for his active contributions to European digital innovation initiatives, grant writing, and collaborative AI research with industry and academic partners. His recent work analyzes how companies are integrating generative AI, machine learning, and computer vision to solve real business challenges, especially in healthcare, education, manufacturing, and more
