Beyond traditional career counselling, PATH’s AI-driven and ethically grounded guidance mechanisms are designed to empower users to build relevant competencies, make informed choices, and prepare for sustainable employability and lifelong learning in a rapidly evolving labour market.
Join us on this journey into the future of career guidance, where ethics, innovation, and European collaboration converge to transform how academic and professional pathways are designed.
The PATH Initiative and the European Higher Education Career Guidance Ecosystem
The University of Seville, together with Université Côte d’Azur, the University of Genova, the Technical University of Košice, MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®, and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, are jointly developing an innovative ethical AI-powered career guidance prototype and conceptual platform to strengthen and enhance academic and career guidance services within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA220-HED Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education programme.
The ethical AI-powered career guidance experience is a digital and personalised guidance activity that connects students and academic communities in new and innovative ways, supporting informed decision-making across academic pathways and professional development within European higher education.
The PATH project and its prototype play an important role in facilitating ethical, inclusive, and future-oriented career guidance, while promoting sustainable collaboration between European higher education institutions and reinforcing trust in the responsible use of AI in guidance services.
PATH Objectives
1 - Bridging Education and Employment
Enhance Academic-Professional Integration Across the Ulysseus Alliance
Increase the career relevance and effectiveness of guidance services across Ulysseus partner universities by strengthening the alignment between graduate competencies and market demands. This aims to secure better employment outcomes for alumni.
2 - Empowering Informed Career Choices
Facilitate Informed Decision-Making and Vocational Satisfaction
Provide students with an objective self-assessment platform that clearly identifies their strengths, weaknesses, interests, and capabilities, offering personalized academic and professional development pathways for informed vocational choices.
3 - Advancing Ethical Human-Centred AI
Establish Ethical and Educational Use of AI in Career Guidance
Design AI functionalities that augment the student’s capacity for personal expression in application materials (CVs, cover letters), actively preventing the generation of generic or standardized content and ensuring the student’s unique personality and profile are maintained (Human-Enhanced AI).
Milestones
Feb 25
PATH Kick-off meeting
The PATH Kick-off meeting was held virtually on 25 February 2025, officially launching the project. Representatives from all six partner institutions participated. The key objectives were to establish the project’s structure, communication channels, and administrative procedures, and to define the common vision and implementation plan for developing the ethical AI-powered tool.
Nov 25
PATH Progress meeting
This was the project’s first in-person technical meeting, where representatives from all partner universities met on 14 November 2025 at the Université Côte d’Azur in Nice. The purpose was to review the first design phase of the PATH prototype, coordinate the next steps, and refine the prototype’s architecture with the goal of finalizing the design by the end of the year. The meeting contributes to strengthening the alliance’s capacity to design innovative and ethical solutions for academic and career guidance.
