Objectives
The Ulysseus seed fund for teachers is envisioned to provide financial support to innovative, co-creative and collaborative ideas in teaching and learning across the Ulysseus European University.
This seed fund financially supports academics in co-creating a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) by enabling teachers to meet in person for joint design and planning of the course. The COILs awarded with this seed funding grant must be implemented by 31 March 2026.
The seed funding may also be used to develop new Ulysseus Virtual Joint Courses, involving at least two teachers from two different Ulysseus universities. For more detailed information, please contact your Local Mobility Officer.
Introduction to COILS
COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) is an innovative teaching methodology that connects existing academic courses from different Ulysseus higher education institutions virtually. This approach fosters cross-cultural collaboration by bringing students and teachers together in a virtual space to learn, discuss, and collaborate as part of their regular classes.
Designed exclusively for students, COIL provides a transnational educational experience by integrating classrooms across countries. Each course should be part of the curriculum and involve at least two teachers from participating institutions.
For you as the educator, COIL offers the chance to enhance cross-cultural collaboration while providing students with valuable opportunities to improve their global awareness, intercultural communication, and digital skills, transforming their learning into a transnational experience.
