English Beginner 2


This book-based course picks up where the self-paced Ulysseus English Beginner 1 course leaves off.  If you are a true beginner but haven’t done the Ulysseus Beginner 1 course yet, you may want to before beginning this course.

The course will be synchronous, meaning you will have mandatory live online classes with a teacher available to assist you with any questions or needs you may have in real-time.

90-minute classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 to 12:00 CET from February 5th to May 24th, with breaks for Easter week, Seville’s Fair, and local holidays.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • communicate in basic, everyday situations
  • use simple structures in both written and spoken English
  • read and respond to short emails
  • write descriptive essays on a given topic
  • request and offer information about one’s current job, studies, family, and interests.

Course content

  • Grammar: present simple of the verb be, subject pronouns, possessive adjectives, plural and singular nouns, imperatives and let’s for suggestions, present simple & verb phrases, word order in questions, possessive ´s, prepositions of time and place, adverbs and expressions of frequency, can and can’t, present continuous, object pronouns,
  • Vocabulary: the days of the week, months, numbers 0-100, continents, countries, nationalities, the alphabet, things, clothes, adjectives, colors, feelings, the airport, jobs, family, the weather, seasons, the date/ordinal numbers, music
  • Communicative Goals: basic greetings in English, giving and asking for personal information, checking in at a hotel/the airport, ordering food and drinks, and describing one’s family and friends, daily routines, and the weather.
