Anyone currently registered in one of the Ulysseus Universities is automatically a Ulysseus Student, becoming part of the Ulysseus University Alliance for the citizens of the future. That being said, please note that in order to take part in activities and courses geared towards Ulysseus Students, a separate application/registration is still necessary.

Ulysseus strongly believes that European Universities should be open-to-the-world, solidary institutions beyond European borders. By connecting Ulysseus Students from different Ulysseus partner universities, Ulysseus aims to achieve the goal of ever-greater cooperation between institutions and a change in mindset towards a more open, inclusive world.
Ulysseus aims to be an inclusive European University, engaging Students from all study cycles starting from XX (second year or certain amount of ECTS credits) as a bachelor student and reaching all the way up to the Doctorate level.

All available courses to Ulysseus Students are listed in the comprehensive course catalogue. You can apply for specific courses as soon as the registration for them has been opened (as indicated for each course). Ulysseus Students fulfilling the general requirements and specific requirements may apply. Each Ulysseus university for now uses its own registration process which is outlined in the course catalogue. Furthermore, depending on the partner university, deadlines may vary. Therefore, make sure you check the course catalogue regularly.
Ulysseus Partners offer you a wide range of mobility options to maximize involvement of a variety of different students in a Ulysseus Student mobility experience. Generally, courses offer vary depending on duration (short-term vs. long-term) and delivery (in-person, virtual or blended). Please check the Ulysseus course catalogue for up-to-date information on each course.
Course offers vary in length in order to accommodate as many Ulysseus Students as possible. That is why, they range from short-term workshops or webinars to more traditional long-term exchange mobilities. You are able to filter the course catalogue by intended length of stay/duration.
No, you only need to be enrolled as a second-year Bachelor student or higher level at one of the universities of the Ulysseus Alliance in the Academic Year 2022/2023. Please note that admissions to the courses advertised are currently open only to students from the six Ulysseus universities.
In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Ulysseus universities shifted many of its interactions to the online sphere. These include, but are not limited to, Student mobility experiences. While Ulysseus hopes to increase physical mobility experience numbers, virtual and blended formats are here to stay and offer Ulysseus Students ever more flexibility to engage with peers from all over Europe.

As a Ulysseus Student you are expected to show a high level of commitment, openness to the world and self-initiative. Since the Ulysseus Alliance is still in its pilot phase, a certain degree of flexibility is required of all participants in the Ulysseus mobility experiences. Your valuable feedback will be essential in further perfecting the Ulysseus exchanges.
Inclusiveness is one of the main pillars of the Ulysseus Alliance. Wherever possible, Ulysseus will support students with limited mobility with its Mob4All project, which aims for equal access to everyone. In the case of online or blended programs, all Ulysseus partners are called upon to ensure different participants’ needs are met.

Many of the courses offered were specifically selected for their online or blended elements, thus ensuring that Students unable to physically move abroad will still be able to participate. Yes, Ulysseus courses and activities are made available from all Ulysseus universities. As a Ulysseus Student you get to choose the kinds of activities from the different Ulysseus universities that suit your needs and interest best. Specifically, you can choose to study at multiple Ulysseus universities since many courses are offered online.
As a registered Ulysseus student, you can choose from the courses at any of the other Ulysseus universities as part of your home university’s degree programme. You are also invited to select other courses or activities at any of the other Ulysseus universities in order to further boost your learning outcomes.

We intend to offer a broad, interdisciplinary range of courses covering the focus areas of ‘Energy, Transport, Mobility and Smart Cities’, ‘Digitalization’, ‘Food, Biotechnology and Circular Economy’, ‘Ageing and Well Being’, ‘Tourism, Arts and Heritage’, ‘Artificial Intelligence’.

In order to take part in Ulysseus mobility experience, you need to be enrolled at one of the Ulysseus universities where you are required to pay standard tuition fees. There are no additional fees to become a Ulysseus student, other than usual costs of living and possibly national fees associated with your studies (e.g. MCI student association fee) which cannot be waived as they are legally mandated.
Yes, you can apply for an Erasmus+ mobility grant for your physical mobility to one of the Ulysseus universities. Additionally, some Ulysseus universities will offer stipends for shorter trips and workshops. You will have to apply for these grants at your home university, in coordination with your Ulysseus advisor. Ulysseus Students will not receive funding if the mobility experience chosen is undertaken exclusively virtually (without the need for physical presence at the host university).
Depending on the Ulysseus Student mobility experience you apply for, you will be a fully-registered student (in case of a semester-long exchange) or simply registered as a ‘visitor’ in the Ulysseus partner university’s system.
It is Ulysseus’ express goal to fit Ulysseus courses seamlessly into students’ study programmes. Shorter mobility experiences typically will not affect the total duration of your studies, long-term mobility experiences might result in a longer duration since recognition of study results at your home university cannot be guaranteed. In case you are not sure if the ECTS from Ulysseus academic courses will be accepted as part of your programme, we advise you to contact your Programme Director (or equivalent) to discuss your participation in Ulysseus courses and activities.
Yes, the courses taken during your Ulysseus Student mobility experience will be recorded in your transcript.

Yes, you will receive a Certificate of Completion after finishing your mobility experience.
Whether a Ulysseus partner course can replace courses from your own academic programme depends entirely on your home university. We advise you to check with your academic advisor or Head of Department to get a definite answer to this question before you undertake any Ulysseus course.
In order to take part in Ulysseus programmes and activities you do not have to pass any additional assessments or exams, other than the exams or assessments of the courses you chose. Please note, however, that academic recognition at your home university of the Ulysseus course(s) you have taken cannot be guaranteed.
Every Ulysseus partner has different rules when it comes to failing a course. You should check with the course lecturer to get a definite answer to this question.
All students are encouraged to speak 2+ languages within the Ulysseus Alliance. Language courses at A1 beginner level are offered as open courses to all Ulysseus students. Many of the courses offered are held in English, meaning that a B2 level of English according to the CEFR is highly recommended/required. All Ulysseus students and staff are encouraged to learn more foreign languages.

Ulysseus is currently only in its pilot phase. Nevertheless, it is the express goal of the Alliance to provide a wide range of students with different interests and backgrounds the opportunity to participate in a Ulysseus Student mobility experience. Furthermore, it promotes a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination.
A community is only as strong as its weakest link. Ulysseus hopes to welcomes Students from different backgrounds with different experiences and perspectives. Their motivation will ultimately help achieve many of the Ulysseus goals by becoming open to the world, future citizens of Europe. It is extremely important that Ulysseus students are willing to try something new.
In order to partake in the Ulysseus Student journey, you will have to be enrolled in one of the Ulysseus universities. This means that upon graduation you will no longer be able to participate in this part of Ulysseus. However, as an Academic of Non-Academic Staff Member the Ulysseus experience continues to be open to you.
The housing situation is very different at the different YUFE places. The housing staff of each university will help organise the housing of YUFE students according to the local needs and opportunities.
