Ulysseus Language Policy
In times of global change, language, intercultural, and digital skills are vital for communication and social stability.
Ulysseus, a European University alliance founded in 2020, brings together universities from Finland, France, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Montenegro, Spain, and Italy, embodying Europe’s linguistic and cultural diversity. This aligns with the EU’s vision to promote multilingualism and help citizens master at least two languages beyond their mother tongue.
While many European University Alliances highlight multilingualism, few act on it. Ulysseus stands out with its +2 Language Programme (+2LP), enabling students, staff, and lifelong learners to learn two or more additional languages. The programme covers seven alliance languages plus Arabic, Chinese, English, and Russian, offering diverse learning formats and pioneering initiatives such as the first online Montenegrin course.
