Call: RE.connect Fellowships 2025

The University of Münster is pleased to announce a limited number of RE.connect fellowships for international researchers in light of its ‚Research Alumni Strategy‘ (RE.AL) for 2025.

These grants are intended for researchers who used to conduct their work at the University of Münster and are now based in one of the universities within Europe.

The goal of these fellowships is to facilitate the reconnection between former visiting researchers and their previous hosting staff at the University of Münster, as well as to promote the initiation or strengthening of sustainable research collaborations with the University of Münster and other European institutions.

The fellowships are awarded by the University of Münster Rectorate and managed by the International Office, according to the rules of the University of Münster Internationalisation Strategy and the goals of the RE.AL- Research Alumni Strategy.

International collaboration research activities at University of Münster such as: publication, funding grant proposal, research or teaching, which aim long-term cooperation between the home university of the candidate and the hosting professor at University of Münster.

The offered fellowships are divided in two funding lines:

1. One-time grant: € 1,500 for a short stay visit (from 1 to 2 weeks)
2. Long research stay: € 2,000/month from 1 to 3 months

Conditions:
• On-site in Münster
• flat-rate fellowship
• One Person

All candidates for the fellowships must meet the following criteria:

• must be an international researcher (except German citizens)
• spent at least one month at the University of Münster conducting research
• researcher who have not worked at a German institution in the last six months before starting the fellowship
• currently working in one of the scientific institutions in european countries mentioned below*
• must hold a PhD degree

Please note: The RE.connect Fellowship is currently not open to the Faculty of Medicine (FB 05).

Erasmus Plus: Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Turkey

EUN Ulysseus Network: University of Montenegro (UCG), Universidad de Sevilla, Université Côte d’Azur (UCA), University of Genova (UniGe), Technical University of Košice (TUKE), MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Haaga-Helia)
