The EUC Voices Erasmus project context

What is EUSAF?

The EUC Voices Erasmus Project is a grassroots initiative aiming at giving the voices to students from European Universities Alliances. After the success of #ESA22 and # ESA23, the initiative has become an Erasmus + funding projecto with 3 actions to support European citizenship and student engagement:

  • Yearly European Student Assembly (ESA) composed of 250 students from universities part to EUA aiming at drafting recommendations on EU topics. Meets in the European Parliament in Strasbourg in spring.
  • Yearly European Universities Student Ambassadors Forum (EUSAF) composed of one representative from each European University Alliance aiming at discussing higher education topics. Meets in Warsaw in September.
  • EUC VOICES Alumni network composed of students who participated to ESA and EUSAF.

EUSAF is a platform for students from European Universities Alliances (EUAs) to share their views, experiences, and ideas on the current and future state of higher education (HE) in Europe. EUSAF aims to foster student engagement, identity, and a sense of belonging within and across EUAs, as well as to provide input and recommendations to EUAs and other stakeholders.

EUSAF strategy

EUSAF is composed of selected student representatives from each European University Alliance, who are called Ambassadors. The selection process is based on guidelines and criteria that ensure diversity, inclusiveness, and fairness. EUSAF participants (Ambassadors) will meet 3 times per year (each cohort), both online and in person:

  • online meetings of student ambassadors (2 per year before and after the in-person meeting) – organized by SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
  • in-person EUSAF meetings (once a year at SGH: September 2024, September 2025, June/July 2026), in cooperation with Erasmus Student Network (networking = capacity building).

Ulysseus will nominate one (1) Ambassador per year. The procedure for selecting participants for the EUSAF will be determined by each alliance, in accordance with its internal rules, procedures and its governance traditions. Ulysseus will select an additional representative to serve as a backup representative in the case of unforeseen situations. The second representative will be able to participate in the online meetings while only 1 representative will be eligible to participate in the in-person meeting in Warsaw.

SAVE THE DATE! EUSAF in-person meeting 2024 will take place from September 12 to 14 (Thursday – Saturday) in Warsaw (Poland).
