The Alliance has a booth in the “Village of Alliances” and is taking part in different sessions in Versailles.

Ulysseus participates in the Campus of European Universities in Paris

Rectors and representatives from the Ulysseus community are participating today in Paris in the Campus of European Universities, an event organized to promote the European Universities alliances and transnational cooperation in the fields of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. This conference is organised by the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research together with the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, France Universités, the Conference of Deans of French Schools of Engineering (CDEFI), the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES), the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI), Campus France and the Agence Erasmus+ France.

Rectors, representatives and staff members from the partner universities of the Ulysseus alliance: University of Seville in Spain, Université Cote D’Azur in France, University of Genoa in Italy, Technical University of Košice in Slovakia, MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® in Austria and the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Finland are attending this Campus of European Universities.

European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel and the French Minister of Higher Education and Research, Sylvie Retailleau, opened this event which brings the French Presidency of the Council of the EU to an end with an emphasis on the importance of universities in Europe, at the heart of ensuring well-informed citizens.

The campus brings together presidents of the 300 establishments involved in the 41 alliances of European Universities, in order to make an initial assessment of their achievements and the work undertaken to strengthen them. Representatives of the Member States and the European Commission, as well as partners from the social and economic spheres (businesses, regions, cities, research organisations, etc.), both in and outside the EU, are It also taking part of the conference. The goal for all the participants is to strengthen the international dimension of the European Universities initiative.

Workshops

Besides the opening session and the plenary sessions, the Campus of European Universities has an exhibition space, the “Village of Alliances”, where each of the 41 European University alliances are represented, and a series of workshops. Ulysseus is represented by MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®’s rector, Andreas Altman, as one of the speakers of the workshop about “Building partnerships with the socio-economic stakeholders”. Moreover, during the event and its workshops, the following topics are also being addressed: “Diverse models of European universities, but common challenges”, “Role models for the transformation of the European higher education”, “Showcasing European higher education worldwide”, “European universities with students’ eyes” or the key topic on the importance of boosting Europe’s role and global leadership.

Ulysseus is one of the 41 European Universities selected by the European Commission to become the universities of the future. Led by the University of Seville together with five other universities in Europe (the University of Genoa, Italy; Université Côte d’Azur, France; the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia; MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®, Austria; and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Finland), the project will allow students, researchers and graduates to move freely between universities, carry out internships in companies and start high-impact research projects.
