On 29 September Ulysseus celebrates the European Researchers\u2019 Night, a Europe-wide public event which aims at bringing science closer to the public in a fun and inspiring ways. For this occasion, some Ulysseus experts explain us in a series of four mini interviews how Artificial Intelligence is bringing benefits to citizens in different ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this interview, Javier Pino Lucena, Associate Professor at the University of Seville addresses the question \u201cHow can AI enhance the day-to-day life of citizens in smart cities?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His work focuses on the integration of renewable energies to supply energy demands in the form of heat and electricity, both in buildings and in industry. Within this topic, the professor has led 3 research projects and has more than 10 publications in high-impact journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another line of his work is the research on the production of hydrogen from renewable energies, mainly wind energy, and the use of hydrogen as an energy storage system to supply demands in buildings and transport. Related to hydrogen technology, Pino has been part of several committees in the International Energy Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
