Ulysseus professionals meet in Haaga-Helia for the first Co-Creation Event of COMAI Joint Master Degree on Artificial Intelligence

The Ulysseus professionals gather in Haaga-Helia on 6-7 February for a Co-Creation Event to discuss the content of the upcoming European Joint Master Degree in Artificial Intelligence (COMAI). This meeting marks the beginning of building up Haaga-Helia’s first Erasmus Mundus Degree with coordination responsibility.

The two-day event was opened by Salla Huttunen, Vice-President of Haaga-Helia, and gathers over 20 higher education professionals and associated partners from Ulysseus partner universities and countries: University of Seville in Spain, Université Cote D’Azur in France, University of Genoa in Italy, Technical University of Košice in Slovakia, MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® in Austria and the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Finland.

The objectives of the meeting are to agree on the general structure and approach of the degree, analyze the current offerings in Ulysseus universities in AI and business, outline the intended learning outcomes, and agree on tasks related to the international accreditation process and the self-evaluation report.

Marjaana Mäkelä, the Project Lead for COMAI, emphasizes the importance of defining the structure of the degree in accordance with the Erasmus Mundus program. The degree will consist of two mandatory mobility periods at different Ulysseus partner universities and will require addressing administrative challenges at the level of different national regulations.

The theme of the Erasmus Mundus degree will be „AI for Business Transformation“ and is expected to generate high interest in the European education sector. The core of the new degree will consist of interesting and relevant study modules, and their analysis and further modification will be one of the key themes in co-creation workshops during these two days.

The event gathers experts involved in the development of joint and double degrees from the Ulysseus partner universities. Good practices and experiences will be shared, particularly with regards to administrative challenges, in a panel discussion with their Haaga-Helia colleagues.
