The COMPASS Entrepreneurship and Mentoring Guide for Researchers both discusses the concept of entrepreneurship and provides an overview of what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur, and also, it encourages you, the researcher who wants to become an entrepreneur, to do so with the help of a mentor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The guide consists of two parts. Part A focuses on entrepreneurship. After defining entrepreneurship and discussing its role in the European Union, some common false myths about entrepreneurship are debunked. Following this, the guide gives an overview of the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur and makes clear the importance of a business plan for becoming an entrepreneur before elaborating on the benefits of entrepreneurship for researchers, sharing two success stories from graduates from one of the Ulysseus institutions who became entrepreneurs and, finally, providing information about entrepreneurship courses and trainings readily available at Ulysseus for aspiring entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Part B, the guide\u2019s focus is on mentorship.
